light bulb

While Thomas Edison was credited as the person who invented the first light bulb, the light bulb was actually around way before Thomas was born.

Wait what?!?  Thomas Edison didn't invent the light bulb? Then who invented the first light bulb then if Thomas didn't invent it.You may ask.

Well There were many people involved with making the light bulb.Thomas was just the person who perfected it to be able to be lit up at a longer period of time.

In the year 1806 an Englishman that went by the name Humphrey Davy Created the first of its kind electric lamp its was used to for miners safety in the coal industry
There were so many inventors that improved the Light bulb to make it commercially practical to all From Marcellin Jobard in 1838 to Joseph Swan in 1860

In July 24 1874 a canadian inventor by the name of Henry Woodward and his partner Matthew Evans filed a canadian patent application on an  electric light bulb.Henry Improved the light bulb even more than the previous inventor


Thomas Edison later on ended up obtaining an exclusive license to the light bulb of Henry Woodward. Edison Improved on Matthew creation making it Sufficiently long service life to be commercially practical.

Thomas Had a group of people helping him build the light bulb

Since Thomas had Fame and fortune The media/publicist made it wide known that Tomas created the best thing that could happen.Thomas from then it was known that he was the inventor of the light bulb.
